FDA approved drugs - are they really safer than alternative medicines? - Tracey Planinz - 06-26-2009 - HealingNews - The anti-alternative medicine camp is at it again, with new headlines popping up today referring to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) as "unorthodox" and "mystical mumbo jumbo". The implication is that CAM therapies are not only unorthodox and unapproved, but also dangerous. This is a change from some other recent posts siting NCCAM reports that the alternative therapies, studied by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) department of complementary and alternative medicine, are nothing more than ineffective placebos. Shining light on SPF and sunscreens - Kim Chartrand - June 22, 2009 - Examiner - ...by blocking UV rays, sunscreens limit the amount of vitamin D we can manufacture, and low levels are implicated in cancer (including skin) heart disease and perhaps Alzheimer’s among other diseases. Read more...
EDITOR'S NOTE: The previous article addresses a real challenge. Too much sun can damage us when we are not protected, yet these same rays can also be beneficial when getting a proper amount. I have found carrots to help, especially the juice, as it is a natural source of carotene, great for the skin. If one drinks straight carrot juice, their skin will take on an orange patina, that some doctors might mis-diagnose as liver problems, yet it does protect one from the sun. Mix carrot juice with beets / celery, and you get a deeper "copper" skin patina. As written in article, avoid "conventional" sun blocks and use ones with natural plant source ingredients without the chemicals.

EDITOR'S NOTE: There is just too much evidence that chemotherapy often causes more harm than good, and basically does not work in a large percentage of cases. A clear viable case can be made for the use of holistic and natural healing modalities that often work better, if we as a society can counter to intense lobbying efforts of pharmaceutical giants and the standard AMA mandate. The science of alternative medicine Part I - Tracey Planinz - June 16, 2009 - HealingNews - There have been several reports from the Associated Press recently regarding studies done on complementary and alternative medicine practices (CAM), showing them to be nothing more than placebos or simply ineffectual. Since much of holistic medicine has been practiced with empirical success for thousands of years, and with the growing popularity of alternative medicine in the United States, one has to wonder if the AP reports are a fair representation of CAM as a whole. EDITOR'S NOTE: Associated Press [AP], along with other major media have been reporting that [what they call] "complimentary / alternative" medicine practice does not work. The previous articles address this, with a good expanation WHY natural remedies work, and why we NEED TO TAKE ACTION NOW so "they" do not take our rights to natural health away. Right now, we cannot get funding through Medicare and most insurance plans, unless the AMA approved MD puts their "stamp of approval" on it. Why? Simply because Pharmaceutical Companies cannot get a patent on herbs, so they make chemicals from the otherwise "natural sources" so they can make profit. Do your part and let Government officials know how you feel before it's too late. Click here for details how you can help.
